SHIPSIDE

The view of this portion of a mid-1940 map indicates where 'Shipside' was located (marked in yellow).  Alban Park is now there.

Shipside was a post WWII housing project and not necessarily a Wilmington "neighborhood".  The buildings were constructed with an exterior of gray asbestos sheets and were demolished in the early to mid 1960's.  It also indicates that Shipside was NOT within the Wilmington City limits but was in Christiana Hundred.
