Brookview Apartments
ClaymontWoodland Apartments at Faulkland & Center Roads and Brookview Apartments on Darley Road in Claymont were constructed using the same architecture in the early 1950's. As a youngster when I lived in Willow Run, Woodland Apartments with alternating units having the second floor, always reminded me of a 'Fort'.
Today, Woodland still looks the same, but that cannot be said about Brookview. The entire 60+ acres is surrounded by a fence with plans to level the buildings and redeveloped into a renaissance-type area during the next few years. Brookview was a topic last month on this Webster's 'Nostalgia Forum'. On September 25, 2007, I took photographs to present here for those not familiar with this project. I have received several e-mails indicating a concern for the project's outcome and from those that once resided nearby.
